What Interior Design means to IIDA

An Interior Designer is an educated, qualified professional engaged in the practice of developing solutions to address the technical and aesthetic requirements of the interior built environment.

The Interior Design process follows a systematic methodology, including research, analysis, and integration of construction knowledge into the creative process. The Interior Designer has the responsibility to protect the health and safety of the public through the design of code-compliant, sustainable and accessible spaces - and an equally important responsibility to translate the client’s vision and functional goals into creative solutions.
